Oxford Estate
This Georgian-inspired new build is set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside with stunning views across our client’s farm estate. Built using local Cotswold stone, the generously proportioned rooms and large Georgian-style windows overlook the garden’s haha and surrounding countryside. We designed and created a beautiful family home with a traditional contemporary aesthetic, specifying every last detail.
Our clients wanted a home with impactful entertaining spaces for large dinner parties alongside intimate areas for comfortable family living. They loved mixing classical styles with a modern aesthetic and wanted to showcase their stunning collection of art and antique family heirlooms. The finish throughout, from the joinery to light fittings and trims, needed to be bespoke and created to the highest specifications.
Starting with the architects’ drawings, we translated their Georgian influences into striking interiors. We designed classic architectural features, from bespoke wooden panelling in the dining room to detailed cornicing in the drawing room, and paired these with rich modern colour palettes, bold fabrics and brass accents. The ‘Members Club’ feel was elevated by our bespoke joinery, eco-energy lighting schemes and audio-visual systems which brought the sophisticated ergonomic form and function to the house.
The saturated palette downstairs gave way to a soft boutique hotel feel on the upper floors. Carrying through the contemporary touches, we introduced smart accents of colour, playfully-patterned fabrics and statement marble to complement the furnishings.
We used confident layering to add an eclectic look from deep carpets to striking bathroom tiles and fun trims and tassels. For the children, we created bedrooms personalised to their characters using quirky fabrics, wallpaper and soft furnishings.
The bold reception rooms create a stunning visual impact and provide the perfect backdrop for our clients’ entertaining whilst the upstairs family areas offer an atmosphere of relaxed calm.
From the imposing contemporary entrance hall to the rich, layered interiors, the house exudes a feeling of elegant sophistication in the heart of rural Oxfordshire.
