This characterful new build Georgian style country house is set in the heart of West Sussex surrounded by several acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. A spacious, comfortable home was created to welcome extended family and friends.

This substantial property was to create a feeling of warmth and welcome to guests and family members. Furnishings were to be relaxed and elegant with contemporary fabrics mixing with classic antiques throughout. More formal spaces were to work with dedicated children’s spaces.

The interiors were considered right from the architect’s drawings stage and we worked closely to create the perfect backdrop for the interiors in terms of lighting and joinery design, as well as architectural detailing such as panelling and critical glazing features.

Entertaining at scale was a key consideration for the owners and the dining and reception spaces were welcoming and open plan. Layering with warm bronzes, timbers and fabrics kept these large areas warm and accommodating.

Classic layering was used to create comfort and welcoming bedroom spaces, with natural finishes and antique pieces creating flow between the rooms and dressing areas. Bespoke dressing room joinery was designed with warm and textured finishes in wallpapers and woods.

The house was designed to welcome friends and family so these areas were thoughtful and inviting with comfortable furniture, soft lighting and practical joinery for guests.

Playrooms and cosy children’s bedrooms were an important element of the house to welcome grandchildren and families to come and stay and have their own dedicated spaces. A light, bright playroom was created with bespoke toy storage and comfortable TV areas. The bedrooms were designed with little library and reading corners.

The talented Taylor Tripp created a stunning design for the gardens, including an adventure playground and zip wire for the children as well as a kitchen garden and beautiful landscaping around the pool area.
