Founded by Emma Hooton, the studio reflects her architectural eye and considered design philosophy. Starting out in real estate in London, Emma developed an early understanding of how design impacts how a property looks, feels, functions – and performs as an investment. She understands what people respond to, the value of timeless design over passing trends and the transformative impact thoughtful design can have on a property’s potential.

After graduating from the prestigious KLC School of Design, Emma refined her connections and knowledge working alongside renowned designer Hugh Leslie in Kensington, before establishing her own studio more than 15 years ago. Today, that foundation continues to inform her approach: creativity and commercial intelligence work hand in hand across all the studio’s projects.

The Team

Studio Hooton has grown into the company it is today because of its exceptional team of designers, technical specialists and project coordinators, led by Founder and Design Director Emma Hooton alongside Head of Design Charlotte Lyons.

Charlotte, a fellow alumna of the KLC School of Design, has been with the studio for nearly 13 years and is especially interested in historic architecture and restoration projects. She’s adept at leading large multidisciplinary teams, ensuring full coordination.

Most of the team have been part of the studio since its early years. This continuity enables a strong understanding of clients and projects, combining careful listening, creative vision and rigorous organisation to deliver complex super-prime residences thoughtfully and with attention to detail.
