A new build property over three floors of generous proportions in a gated community in the heart of Surrey set within substantial landscaped grounds.

The interior was re-imagined to create a characterful, layered country house feel for our clients to suit relaxed family living.

The Brief

The design was to encompass a full renewal of the interior decoration, flooring and lighting to create interest and character as well as backdrop for the family’s art collection.

An atmospheric, warm dark toned room showing a sofa seating area with a brown circular marble coffee table and plant in the centre. A detailed dark wood lamp sits behind the seating area and long olive toned curtains sit against the same coloured walls. Textured rugs sit on a chevron timber floor.
Design Principles

Period features such as wall panelling and traditional joinery were incorporated to give interest and character. Lighting was re-designed to work with the new layouts and was to be impactful as well as inviting and practical. Welcoming spaces for entertaining were created with warm, atmospheric tones and beautiful soft furnishings.

Large luxurious living room featuring a large neutral boucle corner sofa in the centre and right side of the room. A large neutral linen with brown stripe patterned footstool in the centre of the room with trays, ornaments, books, a throw and a glass vase of flowers. To the left side, a set of two white linen accent upholstered chairs with s slide wood side table and sage green base table lamp between. On the far wall, a piece of fun portrait wall art hung on the left side of the entrance leading onto the dining room. To the right of this entrance, The wall mounted TV with cupboard storage joinery below and open shelf above. Doorway to the right of this leads to the stairwell.
The Study

A significant room in the house – the study was a large space where bold, substantial joinery was designed and installed. Rich colour tones and natural dark stained timbers were combined to make a stunning backdrop for meetings and a calm, ordered space for thought.

This dark and sophisticated study has plenty of deep dark wood finishes and green tones throughout. Along the back wall, a dark wood traditional style library wall joinery with closed cupboard storage on the base and open shelving on the top sections either side of the artwork in the centre of this joinery. The top section of this has three shallow cupboards for additional storage. Each cupboard front with traditional panelling. This panelling is continued onto the walls which are finished in a deep olive green shade. Square framed canvas wall art sits within the top section of panelling on the left wall. On the right wall, a window is dressed with heavy floor length curtains in the same shade fabric as the walls for a seamless effect. In the centre of the room, an exposed lighter wood desk with a black leather office chair. A light jute style rug beneath the desk with a light neutral fabric trim. Both the open shelving with the joinery and the desk top are styled with colourful vintage books and ornamental pieces. Dark black wood chevron flooring throughout.
A close up shot of carefully curated and styled open shelving. On the top shelves, old vintage style books in a variation of green tones fill the width of the space. On the shelf below, a combination of layered horizontal books with ornamental pieces.
The Bedrooms

The bedrooms were kept neutral in soothing colours and natural textures, with additional storage added and lighting reviewed throughout.

This sitting area features two neutral armchairs with a black round side table between. On the side table, a handled vase with natural foliage. Behind the right hand armchair, a tall floor-lamp with a white lamp shade and a tall potted plant. Next to the right of the armchair, an upholstered round footstool. To the left, a window is dressed with neutral linen floor length curtains and sheers hung on a black iron pole.

The bench seat has blue cushions. Drawer storage under the bench seat has shaker style fronts and leather strap handles.
