New Farmhouse

New build Californian farmstead-style residence with extensive grounds including stabling and car barn.

This unique Californian-style farmstead, being built at a stunning location close to London, is a series of barns in natural finishes, including cedar shingles, black Siberian larch cladding and Purbeck stone exterior.

The family ‘barn’ wing has kitchen and catering areas and extensive entertaining space with beamed interior vaulting. The pool and spa wing also has as an outdoor kitchen area.

The Brief...

Full interior design including architectural and lighting specification, fixtures and finishes and full schemes. Full bathroom design and specification. Full joinery design and install including games room and bar around golf simulator area, temperature controlled wine room, full library, playroom, cinema room.

Principal Bedroom

The bedroom suite was designed with a comfortable seating area at one end and a contemporary four poster at the other. A stunning vaulted space with full height crittall windows overlooking farmland with natural fabrics and finishes creating a warm, soft space. Next door was a spacious bathroom with freestanding tub and shower lined with purbeck stone. A contemporary dressing room was created in the neighbouring room in natural timbers and stone with atmospheric lighting and bespoke storage.

Spa Room

Lighting was key in this contemporary spa room with fluted walling revealing a sauna and shower rooms and architectural large scale stone walling flowing directly into the pool area for clean lines and continuity. An oversize sunken spa and lounging/yoga areas make this an all purpose space which opens out to the stunning landscaping in summer months.

Modern vertical slat wooden panelling with recessed warm uplighting from the bottom of the wall features on the far wall with the sauna. The pool along the right hand side with wall lighting on the right hand wall adding atmosphere. To the left, the poolside area with three grey upholstered and wood sun loungers. A potted olive tree features here in front of the large black framed sliding doors leading to outside. Velux roof windows in the vaulted ceiling offer more natural lighting.

A serene modern swimming pool with a bespoke designed sauna in our New Farmhouse Interior Design Project. Modern vertical slat wooden panelling with recessed warm uplighting from the bottom of the wall surrounds the pool and features within the sauna. The sauna is partitioned with a glass screen and door with a wooden bench in the same finish as the wood panelled walls. Grey natural tile flooring is seamless from the sauna to the poolside and within the pool itself.
